Thom's Project

Thom Yorke, one of the geniuses behind Radiohead, decided to make a solo album, sending shock thru most of the fans out there. Usually when a lead singer goes solo, there's fear that the band is splitting up. From what i've heard, all is well, but they needed the usual time apart, so they could get back to enjoying each other's company again. Even us non-rockstars now how that can be.

For the most part, i think it sounds like Radiohead, with slight variations. Not much guitar on these two tracks. It's basically Thom's voice, and usual obscure lyrics, with bleeps and blips in the background. Maybe he was patterning his side project on The Postal Service. One thing i did notice right away though, his voice is clearer. It's usually very difficult to make heads-or-tales of what Thom's singing about (on Radiohead albums), at least without looking up the lyrics. This time the producer kept his voice clear, which i really like.

The fences that you cannot climb
The sentences that do not rhyme
In all that you can ever change
The one you're looking for

It gets you down
It gets you down
